Author Topic: Streamed Server-Wide Music/Sounds  (Read 1510 times)

I think I have got a new idea that would work great with Blockland. The server host should be able to stream music/sounds to all the players across the server and maybe other players could stream to players playing their mini-game, rather than have it play through a music block (as music blocks have many limitations). I'm not saying that this system has to replace the music block, but I think it would work very well. This allows for the music-file size limit to be removed (or set through server settings), allows for stereo play, and would work great for events, mini-games, etc.

What do you guys think?

With the current engine, this isn't possible. There is certainly libraries Badspot could use to make it possible, but I'd consider this a remote possibility considering where the priorities are right now.

You need to have all the sounds and music loaded when you join

Not if you have a client mod that downloads music, plays it while downloading the next and deleting the previous

From a website ofc

But client-sided add-ons required to join a server sucks
