Author Topic: Another weapn pack - WA2000 on page 3!  (Read 6232 times)

So, I've always wanted to make my very own pack with the following things;

-ADS, just love it
-Bulletdrop, cause realism
-A non-crappy ammo system

I was inspired by Gravity Cat's pack, ever since he made that ''unrealeased weapon pack''.

What is made so far:

L85A2
M14 EBR
SCAR-H
G36C
AK-12
WA2000

CREDZ:

Zloff, I used his Blockombat scripts as templates for Ammo, ADS and such.
Gravity Cat, used his bullet.dts from the CX-32 he made.
malen, for helping me out with sounds!

I like the way the model looks. The green furniture is too green; it should be an olive color and the barrel should be a bit fatter.

Well, I am trying to fix that, but I am not good at the texture and color thing haha.
For the barrel part, I will think about it.

Other than that, thanks!

Your skills have come far, it looks nice

L85A2
I can assure you that many of us have no loving clue what that is or does. I would highly suggest using generic names like "Submachine Gun" or variations of that. If I'm using your pack and browsing through the weapon list, and I'm looking for a shotgun and I come across a W56S7, I don't know what that is and I'll have to spawn it and check. You can base the models and colors off real guns but name it generically. Other than that, it looks pretty good, but definitely make that green darker.

EDIT: Try RGB 85, 107, 47 and see how that works.

No no no no. You see, that's the handicap approach. "Oh damn I don't understand this, please dumb it down for me" is what you're saying. Learn what an L85A2 is and when you do, educate those who don't know.

But there's literally no reason to have a F344235S353523H3539573WER-12342-DF3433 weapon. It's completely pointless, and it might be one of the only reasons I still use Tier Tactical.

nice model, I suggest beveling it in areas as it's razor sharp right now though.

but most of the guns are fairly generic and many people know what they are, sure it requires people to know what the guns are or experiment with them but I really don't like when guns are named like that.

don't listen to treti, he tried that approach and everyone got super mad at him for being not only pretentious but also not listening to criticism

name your guns so they're easy to tell apart, but you can model them however you like. if you want to make an L85A2, you should probably call it a 'bullpup rifle'

tier+tactical followed that schemata and it's downright memetic. it fits in with the theme of blockland's weapons being 'generic' but still easy to pick out from eachother

don't listen to treti, he tried that approach and everyone got super mad at him for being not only pretentious but also not listening to criticism. And I started out with the generic names until I ran out of names and just switched back to real names to avoid the mass overload of autism.

Actually I took critCIAm until people started blatantly attacking me and my pack. God I hate the people who join that loving bandwagon about "WOW U DONT LISTEN TO ME UR GUNS SUCK LISTEN TO ME OR I LOSE MY RESPECT 4 U!!!"..

Bolded the complete handicapation.
L85A2 isn't called an L85A2 for nothing. There are acronyms and the numbers sometimes reflect the caliber, model number, or year it was built.

for example; SIG556:
SIG = Company that manufactured the gun, also SIG is short for SIG SAUER
556 = Reflects the caliber it fires, which is the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, and it's also the model number aswell

there's really nothing wrong with putting real names for guns.
h&ks did the same thing and nobody is complaining!

i dunno some hnk guns actually have words as names (and even then that's only a little better)

yes but the designation has no bearing on blocklanders (and actually video games as a whole) because the only thing that is functionally important about the guns are that they shoot, how they shoot and if shooting comes with any detriment to you

here is experienced advice from outside the bandwagon: naming weapons as [descriptive adjective] [type of weapon] not only crops out extraneous and confusing detail but makes it easy to identify what the gun does before you actually use it, streamlining use

if you run out of adjectives open up a thesaurus

and for forget's sake you can't describe stuff as 'autistic'

handicapped implies 'dumb', autistic is just being offensive for the sake of being offensive
