Author Topic: the democratic national committee is nearly bankrupt  (Read 5485 times)

yeah ok its not like the house passes budgets and then the democrats vote no on them or anything

and then they run around like chickens whining about how republicans cant make a budget and a government shutdown is the end of the world

which is actually kind of hilarious since they cant even keep their own platform afloat even with the presidency
Do you actually believe republicans are out for the welfare of our country?  Neither party is, they're out for personal gain.  That's how it's always been.

Do you actually believe republicans are out for the welfare of our country?

not the establishment powermonkeys whining about anyone else in the party who dare to disagree with the old guard

You're calling democratic politicians liberals...

I think you're confused.  I'm not supporting any party by saying they're all in the attempt to better themselves, loving everyone else over is just a side effect.

salmon 2016

I think its a good thing a part of the gov is temporarily shutting down. They can't solve our problems. They never have, and they never will. We live in a fallen world.

"liberal"

I'm a liberal; Obama, many of his constituents, and many democratic senators are not liberal.

i just think repubs are afraid obamacare will actually work

they want to call it "obamacare" now because if it fails, it makes obama look bad
if it takes off, watch them want to change it to something more neutral

both parties are to blame tbh, they're just playing the blame game, not getting anything done

i just think repubs are afraid obamacare will actually work
I don't think they're afraid it will actually work. I believe that government and law isn't about passing laws to "take a chance and see what happens, maybe it will work", but "think this out thoroughly and understand the likely outcomes of this, and decide about it on the basis of whether or not it is likely to work". Republicans generally believe that it will cause more problems than it solves (I believe so too)- In other words, that it won't work. If it does work (imo practically nonexistant chance it will), then great. But something of that magnitude is foolish to pass on the basis of a gamble.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, one of the Senate's leading voices on gun control, called for stricter gun laws in the aftermath of Monday's killings at Washington's Navy Yard.

The California Democrat said the deaths of the 12 people Monday were at the hands of a man armed with an AR-15, a shotgun, and a semiautomatic handgun, although details of his weapons have not been confirmed.

Her statement reads in part:

This is one more event to add to the litany of massacres that occur when a deranged person or grievance killer is able to obtain multiple weapons--including a military-style assault rifle--and kill many people in a short amount of time. When will enough be enough? Congress must stop shirking its responsibility and resume a thoughtful debate on gun violence in this country. We must do more to stop this endless loss of life.

She is one of the first prominent lawmakers to make the case for stricter gun laws in the aftermath of Monday's shooting, although several pundits reacted (http://www.nationaljournal.com/politics/navy-yard-shooting-talk-turns-to-guns-politics-before-it-s-even-over-20130916) while the incident was still under way.

Feinstein failed several months ago in her effort to ban military-style assault rifles, among other measures. Republicans, worried about the impact these laws would have on the Second Amendment and law-abiding gun owners, helped defeat new gun-control measures.

Dan Gross, the president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, connected the several mass shootings in recent years to Monday's shooting in Washington.

While it is too early to know what policies might have prevented this latest tragedy, we do know that policies that present a real opportunity to save lives sit stalled in Congress, policies that could prevent many of the dozens of deaths that result every day from gun violence. As long as our leaders in Congress ignore the will of the people and do not listen to those voices, we will hold them accountable. We hope Congress will listen to the voice of the people and take up legislation that will create a safer America.

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Whip richard Durbin, D-Ill., delayed a hearing on "Stand Your Ground" laws that was scheduled for Tuesday morning in light of the shooting at the Navy Yard. Sybrina Fulton, the mother of deceased Florida teen Trayvon Martin, was among the witnesses set to testify.

Why can't these parties just loving agree.

Oh wait, Republicans are at the south pole and don't know what global warming is, and Democrats are the Polar Bears who float away on little pieces of ice and don't feel like swimming back to shore.
