Gran turismo is the farthest from realistic car tuning speed wise ever.  It's fun in a good way though, the stuff you can do to cars in that game is hilarious, and it's not much different in GT 6.

I fully agree with this.  On GT5/GT6, there are some cars (the ones meant for tuning) that are sometimes more realistic though.  GT5 I have a whole library of tuned supercars, all carbon black with black wheels (my speed demons lol), but some of them can reach >240mph.  GT6 the effects are not as insane but I'm not far enough in the game to really have anything amazing other than a Z34 Fairlady Z (370Z)

I have a lot of stuff in GT 6 already and I have only played 2 days worth of the game.

I have 55 cars I think (best probably being the Sauber Mercedes C 9).  All gold in everything into the beginning of the IA group.  Most seasonal events done except for Acura NSX @ Ascari

I have a backup of screenshots on a flash drive.  I might make a thread in the Games section since [Jeremie's?] old thread is too old.  Don't remember the author.

I'm pretty sure Gran Turismo calculates speed off a constant horsepower value for each car. So if you just set your Odyssey's horsepower to 900001, bam you've got a hypercar. Then there's other games like Forza, that actually calculate fluid dynamics of the air around your car to adjust speed and steering.

Like I said, Gran turismo, worst game for tuning cars lol but it's just pure fun what you can do to the loving cars though in the game.

My Odyssey probably made like 420hp or so.  Idk exactly though.  I also have a 300+hp PT Cruiser lol

nuh uh cause my dad built almost every chrysler plant in the north east america. GMs facilities are better and they suck too.
lol you mean like he was one of the workers who helped build it right?? you wouldn't have a toyota prius if your dad had that kinda money

forza is my favorite racing game on the planet
all of my lamborghinis in forza 4 are white with one solid black stripe down the middle, from the back to the front. I own like seven I think. but I own all of the lambos in forza horizon. don't have the same designs going on tho
PT Cruiser
I wouldn't even buy one of those in a video game

this game is cool as forget when it comes to tuning but it is a bit bogus about it

like srs i put a v8 in a Honda civic and the suspension handled it fine

and then it did 350 MPH

hooray for mods

My early years of Gran Turismo (2-8 years old) I would just navigate around the tuning windows.  If the part would increase horsepower, I would buy it.  If it didn't, forget it.  Then I would wonder why my acceleration was so good but the understeer and gear changes was screwed up.

ok fine, my dad used to do business with chrysler, gm, ford and many many suppliers including visteon

his most notable job was building the LG chem factory in Holland, MI that builds the chevy volt batteries and lithium ion  batteries for other auto companies. he indirectly received obama stimulis money to build it.
he was the operations manager and VP at Roncelli inc.

So I just did a bunch of research on letting your car warm up in the cold and apparently its completely unnecessary for it to be running beyond a minute before you take off.

Weird.

Holland, MI
