don't police cars have their engines tuned up than the regular version of the car?

This is a popular myth. In reality, police cars have so much weight on them from all their law enforcement equipment that tuning the engine still wouldn't make up for the extra weight. It'd also be cost prohibitive to put bigger engines in the cars, they'd have to be installed by third party garages because the manufacturer wouldn't ship them that way just for the police.

well, they would, and they do. ford's current police interceptor is available with a 3.7L engine, the biggest one you can get on a civilian taurus is 3.5L
the manufacturers that build cars for police do it specifically for the police. they're not just regular cars with bull bars

Eh, apparently they do have slightly bigger engines. My point stands that the extra weight still makes them slow pigs, though.

Asphalt late models are nice compared to dirt. Funny how they use Hoosier tires. I have a whole shed full of used hoosiers in my back yard haha.

Thats just a little under what the super late models down here make.  The ones down here make about 850-900, depending on who built the engine.

Yeah some of the big time drivers here go down to NC and buy decked out big blocks from Hendrick Motorsports for like $50,000. I heard they can reach around 900hp.

What motors do the super late models have.

I'm not sure how much the engines down here cost, but there's this local company that builds racing engines for superlates and other classes.  Just about every car owned by a local person has that company's logo plastered all over the front of their car.
