Author Topic: what the forget is wrong with my computer  (Read 1833 times)

edit: read past this first part, this was my previous error and now i'm realizing it's something a little weirder.

using chrome, trying to view youtube videos, and everything i look at is played 2x faster than usual and the audio is horribly deformed, scratchy, distorted; so it basically sounds like my computer is possessed.

google results suggest that i have a bad plugin for flash, but i only have two and neither of them are fixing the problem when i enable one by itself and try loading a video.

edit:
alright so i've made multiple audio tests but nothing is working, it's always scratchy and weird and the videos off youtube still play really quickly

but then i got a windows error and noticed that the error sound also played very quickly and strangly

so i've started up some different steam games and even a music making program off to the side and all of it goes twice as fast and its audio is always played scratchy and strangly. it's something wrong with either my headset or my computer, maybe a virus. i doubt it's my headset causing my computer to run twice as fast, though.

You tried re-installing, right?

If that doesn't work, try hiring an exorcist.

try enabling/disabling hardware acceleration for flash

yeah, the picture is taken after attempting to reinstall.

try enabling/disabling hardware acceleration for flash
not sure where or what hardware acceleration is

thanks for that but i've just realized i have a completely different problem. i disabled hardware acceleration but it didn't accomplish anything.

-this used to be at dkamm-

im going to try restarting the whole pc, should've done that earlier.

edit: fantastic, that seems to have worked. though i'm still completely unsure of what happened.

sometimes a computer will just forget up. Nothing to worry about if it doesn't reoccur

yeah restarting computers fixes about 99% of computer problems :D even ones that super nerds can't even figure out what's wrong. those magic issues that seem to have no cause and suddenly go away forever.

if only coding worked like that. sigh.

i'm fairly sure i had this exact problem a very long time ago on a different computer, but it hasn't happened since then.

nothing to worry about if it only happens once, it's happened on my schools computers too.
