Author Topic: Could the last quarter of 2013 be a very active one with weather occurrences?  (Read 2087 times)

Blizzards and tornadoes are already storming through America's Rockies already in the beginning of October. Snow in October isn't that unheard of, but blizzards? I think it's becoming a huge concern. In the past 2 years, oceans slightly above and below the equator have been experiencing so much activity. The Gulf of Mexico has been so active this year, it's insane. As a result of this, a tropical storm known as "Karen" has formed and it is currently a bit far from Louisiana and Mississippi's shoreline. A handful of forecasters predict this will form into a very minor hurricane, but look at what happened with Irene; everyone thought it would be terrible and it wasn't as bad as people thought. And then, Sandy happened and nobody predicted it to be that devastating. Good news is that Karen is currently weakening and stalling off the Gulf.

It is confusing to logically think about how many damaging storms are taking place all at once. If any of you are in the path of the tropical storm which **might** form into a hurricane, my condolences -- same to people in the path of the widespread tornadoes and blizzards.

Houston, we kind of have a problem.

"no we don't."

Aren't we soon entering a new Ice Age?

Hurricanes never hit where I live which loving sucks because I love tropical storm weather conditions.

Karen's rain might nick my town a little bit.

It is spectacular to watch one hit and make landfall, but if you are in the middle of it there is no fun.

southeast US always gets its worst weather in the latter half of the year

Aren't we soon entering a new Ice Age?
Soon? if you think soon is thousands of years from now.

Are you high?

We got hit byh hurricanes every so often in Florida. In the middle of it. It's really fun. Flooding, heavy rains, thunder, dark skies. Love it. Nothing better than a good hurricane. Especially near the eye.

From what I've heard, this winter is supposed to be unusually cold and very snowy.

Sweet! I'm going up north to Big Bear Lake, where it snows (almost) year-round! Maybe I'll see a blizzard. I think i'm going there over christmas break.

Soon as in a few hundred years. Still pretty soon, and it's not going to be all of a sudden, it's slowly going into it.

I'm not but if you ask most people who are in the eye of a hurricane none are ecstatic for one. If you are a climate-junkie like me then you'd get a mental boost from it, but otherwise it isn't something to look forward to if you are about to suffer from it.

luckily in britain its just going to be snow and rain
