Author Topic: What position would I play in Football?  (Read 1464 times)

No offense but those are really really bad stats

I can 1 rep bench 180lbs
4.8 40 yard time
60 push ups in a minutes

Im not trying to boast but I would say Im about average, maybe under the average

Honestly I would say your standard positions, Defensive back and Wide reciever.

Why I wouldnt recommend QB

You're new to football and QB's have a ton of responsibility. You have to know every play, who goes where. You have to be able to pass the ball accurately, quickly, and far. You have to see blitzes and call audibles.

I did some QB last year and it can be pretty overwelming. Decided not to do QB this year and went to running back.

topic is now about boasting about "you're" muscles.

In my 40 yard dash, I got it done in 10 seconds

obviously not running back  :cookieMonster:

take shortstop!

*not a sports guy*

"kinda fast"
"10 sec 40 time" (hint thats incredibly slow bruv)
"bench 105" (hint thats not much at all

honestly you dont sound in any way athletic. how much do you weigh? under or overeweight? how tall are you? from what you said in the op, sounds like you wouldnt be a good reciever or DB like most people are saying. i also highly doubt you could be a QB. how much do you know about football? QB's should be one of the most athletic playeres on the team, know a lot about football in general, be able to make really quick decisions, and obviously be able to throw. how far can you actually throw? how fast can you throw? almost everyone can throw a spiral, that doesnt make them QB material.

it would help if you gave the answers to the questions i asked, right now im not seeing much.

Start playing baseball.  15 push ups in 90 seconds?  Should be able to crank 20 out in 30 seconds.  Start doing 15 reps at 3 sets per day (morning and night).  Buy some 10-25lb dumbbells and work out with those for 4 weeks.

get out and hit a home run

No offense but those are really really bad stats
im not even an athlete and i can do better than OP

be a dedicated kicker

I can bench press 105 lbs no problems This weight needs to be raised
I can do 10-15 push ups within 1 min and 30 seconds This really needs to be improved on
In my 40 yard dash, I got it done in 10 seconds Are you sure?  Our slowest lineman who also had knee surgery is able to run it in 6.5 seconds.
In our "Speed Run" I got 48 laps -blahblahblah- but my mouth was dry) Dry mouth will be the least of your worries if you play football
I can do 56 sit ups within 1min and 30 seconds this needs some improvement, but not as much as the other stuff

I can punt a ball pretty far and decently accurately Have you thought about Kicker?
I can throw really far with a good spiral That might be true but a QB has a whole lot more responsibility
I can run kinda fast Thats why i'm hoping you typoed on your 40 time
I can hit hard, but not like knock them out Punching is useless in Football
Stance wise, I can stand a good knock and stay on my feet Define "good knock", also, for something like running back, you won't be able to stop, get into a stance, wait for the defensive player to hit you, and then run again.
I can catch as long as it isn't freaking 80000 miles away from me, cause I'm not super fast but decently fast. Wide receiver maybe?  but you have to be FAST

My friend said offensive and defensive lineman You need to have some size for the line, especially O-line.  If your friends are recommending that, then yeah, you really need to put on some muscle.

Keep in mind I'm not putting you down, just being realistic.  Improving yourself is very easily possible,  you just have to be willing to work hard.
