Author Topic: Event Request: On Item Touch Brick  (Read 2461 times)

Yeah, I could also learn French if I wanted to. But guess what? I don't want to.
I know how to use VCE basically, I will NOT put forth the effort to learn an event mod for a game.
then don't? it's your choice...
you can learn to code this stuff, learn to use VCE for these things, or you can rely on other people for what you want

VCE or not we still need a script to detect if an item is touching a brick

Almost any suggestion/request for an event could be answered with VCE, and plenty of people DON'T want to learn VCE, so why can't they just get an Add-On for their suggestion?

The point is I shouldn't have to go through this with a mod supposably used to make things easier. Kinda undermines the point of having a mod.
It would be like having a movie released in America that was dubbed in Japanese. They could go out and learn the language, but why would they want to when it's being sold as a finish product.
VCE was made by coders, for coders. The ultimate in starfish logic.

Or why isn't VCE intuitive?
Why, with some actual thought and placement, VCE wouldn't need that bible sized manual!
Wow! A concept to think about!

VCE is not "made for coders"
like I said, it's simple if you even try to understand instead of just looking at the words and text boxes and thinking "this is so confusing!"
you don't have to use VCE. it can be used as an alternative to making some addons. you can't make those addons, right? it's much easier to use VCE than it is to learn a programming language
so when it comes to things VCE can do, you have those three choices, and not everyone is going to be willing to make 10 different addons instead
it doesn't need the manual either. up until evar made that addon, it didn't even work. I figured out how to use VCE on my own, and after that I just use the manual as a list for all the variables that exist in the game

if you really think you could make VCE any easier to understand, explain how you would do it
