Author Topic: Defibrillator  (Read 1640 times)

I looked at this forum post (http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=242461.0) and saw the corpse addon there. Idk why but immediately the idea of a defibrillator tool popped in my head.

Any player that dies spawns as a corpse, defibrillating the corpse within 1-3 minutes (or less?) would revive the player giving them all of their items back and maybe leaving them with 25hp.

Charging(?): In order to revive a player the defibrillator must be charged before usage, pressing Jet x amount of times will charge the defibrillator and allow the user to revive fallen players/kill anybody who gets too close.

Maybe instead of 1-3 minutes, how about 40-60 seconds after death?

It should follow the function y = 5/3(60-x), where y is the amount of health and x is the time. So you can only revive them in 60 seconds or less and the faster you revive them the more health they respawn with, so if you wait the full minute they will respawn with 1 HP and if you save them immediately they will respawn with 100 HP, while if you wait 30 seconds they respawn with 50 HP.

You would increase respawn time for this..?

Don't increase respawn time. If I failed, I want to try again NOW and not in 2 minutes. 5 seconds is already too much of a wait.

Pretty sure many others think the same way.

Or just have no respawn at all. Maybe a message that says "Permanent Death in... [Time]"

So I'll have to rejoin every time I get hit or fail?

Or just wait till the round is over.

This is VERY clearly meant for single-life games.
I thought that was really obvious.

Or you could just respawn as normal and then if someone revives you it will say
"Joe has revived you do you accept"
And then you'd type /no or /yes

No, this should only work when you're on your last life.
