What? I'm assuming you talked about piracy?

In before the lock!

It was about private Lego Universe servers and how the people of the Lego Universe Wiki wanted to buy all the rights of the game
I'm not sure if that's rulebreaking because I'm just thinking that it's similar to the "revival of toontown" er something

Lego Universe died already? Surprising, considering the amount of money Lego rakes in, they couldn't use swift advertising to keep the forgeter alive.

LU's servers were shut down on January 30, 2012

Lego Universe is now considered AbandonWare. So this is perfectly fine. I actually want to know more about lego universe private servers since the game is now shut down.

Oh god i loved LU. That game was so much fun.

lolwut? I'm a bureaucrat on the LU wiki (aka an admin/sysop with the additional ability to change the groups of other users), and no, we don't, the site's fairly inactive now in fact - we did have a couple of desperate kids dreaming about doing that back when the game closed in early 2012, though, which I personally laughed at. There's a lot to laugh at on that site, really...

As for private servers, I think a couple people managed to get a few steps into the login process, but that's it. It's a really complex system, don't expect anything interesting remotely soon, if ever.

BTW, there actually still is a pretty active Skype group of LU fans, though as the game's been dead for quite a while there's not a whole lot of LU talk, mostly other subjects. If anybody's interested in being added just let me know.

Oh, and as long as we're discussing LU, might as well shamelessly plug my complete playthrough of it (which is still being gradually uploaded).

Was the OP talking about working private servers or was he talking about people on the wiki working on making some?

I didn't see the topic before he edited it so I dunno. But nobody on the wiki is working on a private server, the users there by and large don't have a clue as to how the game works. There is a small group of people who have been trying to make one, but even after all this time all they've managed to do is get a few steps into the login process. The game ran on many server programs all working together, was heavily tied into LEGO.com's account/ID services, and all the databases for missions, items, NPCs, etc were stored server-side, so they've got an incredible amount of work to do just for the basics of getting the game to run. Did I mention that the details of how all this stuff worked are still pretty much unknown? So that incredible amount of work they have to do is also a lot of guesswork. Don't get your hopes up for any form of private servers.

Here's something I saw a while back, but it never got updated.

http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Bioniclejaller/LEGO_Universe_Private_Server_-_7/5/12

It appears to be a user trying to figure out how to start up their own server.

Sadly, this never happened because he/she could not get past Step 5 of making it.

That's kinda sad, because I had high hopes for this.

He said he needed an older version, and I'm pretty sure I still have the beta version on my Dad's laptop
Possibilities?!
