Going to be honest.
1 - We didn't need a review.
we don't need the internet, but hell, it's over here and people like it too!

i got CXL Platinum too from the humble bundle because i thought "hey why the hell not, it's $1 and maybe it improved since the original first version!"  i bought the first cities xl back when it was still owned and run by the original studios (monte cristo i think), and back when they attempted a really stuffty massive world wide city trade market that cost monthly.  the first CXL was incredibly plagued with memory leaks, and lack of multi core capability, so running the game was very hard to do even with an incredibly robust system.  the game was just horribly developed but sold with its pretty images of detailed terrain and ~~CURVED ROADS!!!~~, but even if it did run well gameplay was horrible and consisted of having to constantly keep going and going and expanding and expanding, otherwise your profit would plummet eventually.  not to mention bugs and UI was horrible aside from the serious memory leak issues.

so i installed Platinum to see if anything changed.  lo and behold, nothing changed.  literally, nothing is different from cities xl 1 as far as i can tell.  same stuffty menus, same god awful performance problems, same everything.  glad i didn't pay more than $1 for this garbage.

so citiesxl platinum is just a rebranded citiesxl 1? damn

...there should be more city sims, the only good ones were simcity 4 and before

god I hope I find my old sc4 disc

if the newest simcity was $10 or less it'd be worth it.  still not worth it at like $40.

The newest Simcity is worth something? What.

its a pretty good sim by itself tbh
its just ruined by the fact that map sizes are so loving small
you cannot save progress on your computer, cant play offline, etc

with the advent of people using mods to build outside the city limits, and now built-in road height adjustment tools and various fixes, it's now worth at least like $15 at most.  that's honestly the most i'd pay for it.
