KLM forever.
Airplanes and Airlines

About
Yes, it's ironic that Muslim posted this thread. Either way, I have loved planes since I was young, and I've always been fascinated by airlines, particularly the design of aircraft + layouts. So... I made a thread for it. And basically this thread is for people who are interested in aircraft or airlines, and the like. Anything related to any aircraft is allowed!

What's a plane?
Well, obviously, a plane is something that generates lift through speed to get up into the air, and then it transports people or things around the world. It can be anything from a helicopter:

An airliner:

A spaceship

Fun fact: the above 747 was actually a retired American Airlines 747.
Or even a FLYING loving BOAT.

All of the above are aircraft, not necessarily planes, but aircraft

Airlines
Airlines are basically just giant companies that own planes and use them to transport people around.
There are international, super-airlines:

There are smaller airlines:

And economy airlines:

And even regionals:

I just flew on Frontier yesterday. The flight was fun, TSA was not.

TSA went into complete overhaul after 9-11 happened which is pretty dumb considering the amount of deadly hijackings before.

I went on an American Airlines plane. It was awesome because they had Earphone plugins for music and TV's that display movies and best of all, GOOD SERVICE.

Yah, the headphones you get on Frontier suck, and if you want any kind of enterainment on from the screens, you have pay. So, needless to say, I didn't get to watch any TV on either of my flights ( I flew on Thursday as well).

Actually, they were pretty much free for the movies. And you can use your own earphones if you want to.

Virgin America is great because they don't do this.
We used their $2 headphones and they lasted us two months until I accidentally broke them.
And yeah you do have to pay for some of it, but the music & cable is free. Yes, they have cable. And the cabin is loving lovey:

safkdsa this definition hurts my inner plane/helicopter fanatic. What you are defining is "aircraft", a "plane" (Technically "Airplane" to differentiate from the geometric object) is a fixed-winged powered aircraft, which a helicopter is obviously not (They don't have fixed wings, a few rare exceptions aside.)

With that aside though I must say I loving love aircraft, although helicopters are more my style than airliners.

I know, I realized that when I finished typing the sentence, I was just too lazy to edit it.
This should probably just be "aircraft megathread".

Yes, helicopters are very nice; never been too interested by them but if I saw some really cool ones I'd probably be interested.
I do love me an Apache though.

tiny little sardine cans suspended 30,000 feet in the air just waiting to drop and kill you
