My first ice skating experience, I only fell once, about an hour in because I was being reckless. I have years of inline skating experience, which definitely helps. Afterwards, however, I was still thinking to myself, "Compared to inline skates, turning sucks." Well, I found out later when at a winter camp that this is largely due to the fact that rental skates simply aren't sharp enough. When I put on those skates at that winter camp, I felt much more confident in my turns, 'cause they were actually sharp. I dominated that hockey game. :P
I should maybe invest in a pair of ice skates. I have a nice $130 pair of inline skates, so it kinda sucks when I gotta put on dull skates at the ice rink, knowing I could have my own pair. :/
