tablets are great for grandma. to old and retired to even need to learn about how to use a computer.
and maybe good for people with head injuries that are trying to recope with society. lol

I mean in a practical sense, they lack so so much. they can't replace smart phones or such things because they just aren't portable, pocket portable, the only important kind.

and they don't have a good cost to usefulness to hardware spec ratio at all. they suck straight out of the box.

smart phones were a godsend to the tech industry.

they allowed us to have a computer, internet, MP3 player, reader, camera, and phone all at once without the old school way of needing a device for each thing.

then tablets come along and are like yeah, we can do most of that at a lower quality, higher price, and non portable.

and suckers are just falling for it lol

you either want less functionality with the same screen size of a small laptop or netbook.

or you want a bigger screen size to do everything your smartphone can already do.

tablets of any brand are only good for the tech stupid and disconnected people who want a toy but lack the intellect and means to get a real one.

Except that some tablets are more powerful than their smartphone variant (...and a bigger screen...), as well as the fact that they are cheaper than many laptops. And you'd be pretty hard pressed to find a netbook with a touch screen.

But for the most part, it's preference. You may not find them useful, but others may use the because of the convenience, and if they use it to get things done, it's not useless to them. Useful is often a relative term.

If you got a higher resolution than you can see, you gain /nothing/ by increasing the resolution even more. Except exponentially worse graphics performance.

Once the resolution gets to be to the point where you have to put your face up against the screen to make out individual pixels, it's good enough for me. I don't understand why some tablets have a much higher resolution than necessary.
