Author Topic: Apple announces iPad Air and iPad Mini with retina display  (Read 10110 times)

I still have the 1st iPad, however if I were to upgrade I don't think I'd get the iPad Air. It's too thin, and I am clumsy and if I dropped it once, then it'd break into pieces. It's too delicate.

Apple made the Air thin for a reason:
So customers would get it broken more often, and the company would increase it's already lucrative profits.

It's the same thing with the Macbook Air. Nonetheless, it's a great computer but the Macbook Pro is so much better. I think Apple is going to discontinue the regular iPad in a few more years as a scheme, look what they did to the regular original Macbook in 2011, it is an utter shame.

Overall, Apple is a bad company, and it manages to earn profits off of inferior hardware by bribing critics, and suppressing negative opinions.
They have a vast army of fans who insult all Android and Microsoft supporters.
Sounds like a dictatorship...
By the way, tablet PC's existed all the way back to 2001.

yes, i have been debating whether to get a nexus 7, or an ipad mini but i think this might just even out the stakes a little bit

Choose the Nexus 7.
Look how clever this photo is:

The cover on the bottom of the iPad appears to blend in with the background of the photo, making the tablet appear thinner than it really is. This effect is strongest at the middle of the device.

I've seen a bunch of people insulting Apple who are Android/Microsoft supporters. Microsoft is no charm either, all big corporations become greedy.

Do you wonder why Apple is the most profitable technology company, although it makes up much less of the technology market than Microsoft?

if ipads were affordable like $250 or something I think less people would complain

Lower generation iPad's are selling for this much now, even less at this point. The problem is that Apple is reusing the same ideas over and over again and the product gets old after awhile. If Steve Jobs was still here, they'd already come out with something innovative.

they're doing the same stuff they were doing before steve died, it wouldn't matter if he was alive or not

they should just have an achievment system for collecting apple products.
these arent very bright consumers anyways, rebuying stuff every year lol.

They have technology made to be released 10 years from now, they are just milking money by releasing features slowly.

So don't say they are running out of ideas.
Freedom of speech and how do you explain the iPad to iPad mini. Dang that seems new to me! Finger print scanner is new to their iPhone 5s. How long has fingerprint scanning been around? 10 years into the future you say? Gold? forget dude, they must be some future beings.

tablets are great for grandma. to old and retired to even need to learn about how to use a computer.
and maybe good for people with head injuries that are trying to recope with society. lol

I mean in a practical sense, they lack so so much. they can't replace smart phones or such things because they just aren't portable, pocket portable, the only important kind.

and they don't have a good cost to usefulness to hardware spec ratio at all. they suck straight out of the box.

let me just point out that you still may not know the actual difference between a TV and a computer monitor.

With that out of the way, tablets are something that you don't know you want until you have one, really.  They're not meant to run loving crysis, you don't need ridiculous specs.  They're meant for doing things like browsing the web or using an app like Paper or Animoog.  It's not meant to be a computer, it's not meant to be a smartphone.  It's meant for apps actually built for touch input without the form factor of a laptop (ie. stuff).

But I guess I may as well not have posted here because anyone displaying logic in these threads is ignored.

Wow, you're right!  Encoders built into GPUs?  loving from the future!  oh wait that's how technology works, it's iterative.  Apple never said that it's new stuff, they're just iterating on the last version (AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THE NEW ONE HOLY stuff WHY DOES NO ONE GET THIS)

Calm down there kiddo. I didn't say they were using future stuff. It's called sarcasm and the guy I quoted was saying they had futuristic stuff. Can you loving read?
