I need your opinion on this mod I am making

So I've been developing this hockey mod which has hockey sticks and all that fancy stuff

Racerboy had an idea: when you get the puck it alerts you by having a green bar made out of = signs on the bottom print
It would become red if you didn't have it.
My opinion is that it should say "You have the puck" in green when you have it and say nothing when you don't

There's where we both disagree with each other and would like your opinion.

Pro's of my idea:
 -It provides an explanation for people who don't have experience with the mod
 -The text is green and there's a black bar that is underneath the text and stretches across the whole screen for visibility
Cons of my idea
 -Supposedly it takes time to read it and it's too small(even though the text is green and is visible enough, I'm sure the average player could read it in a glance)

Pro's of Racerboy's idea
 -Visible
Cons
 -Ambiguous
 -More complicated to implement(even though the difference is just like 8 lines of code)

It's the choice between alternating lines, which are easy to recognize without distracting your attention, as well as offering live-feed rather than disappearing:

someone could steal it from you without you knowing it (even though it does make a sound), it happens all the time in the scrimmage games that we play to test out the mod.

plus it's not like you can always see the puck at your feet. I mean you'd always have to be looking down to see it.

Add-ons are about Blockland, requests are about Blockland, Blockland Clans are about Blockland. None of them go in General Discussion, so discussion about a mod shouldn't either.

Although I agree, the boundaries are a bit vague. I tend to go for "if it can fit anywhere else, it should go there" rather than "could it fit here? I guess so, lets put it here".

It's an indicator bar, what's spammy about it. It's for visual quickness, so you don't have to read a bunch of text during the game.

"You have the puck" is helpful for non-experienced players. However, the ==== is easier to glance at.

I say Racer's idea.

why have the red bar?  There are two possible states, and it's probably more obvious to just make an indicator appear or disappear.
