Author Topic: New ROBLOX Water  (Read 4273 times)

This made me realize part of losing interiors and terrains was also losing our water. I remember we could make it bouncy water, make the waves exaggerated as hell... Now I'm sad...

Also, it's like Roblox is going the opposite direction of Blockland now. Good.

I'm not experienced in torquescript, but something tells me it's still possible using scripts to constantly the environment settings and change the water level so it bobs up and down in a sine-like fashion, but it would probably be too choppy anyway, and making it smooth might lag the server.

Okay... Hadn't made a server since the update, and the servers I've tried don't even bother using water. I thought it was removed. In any case, I can't see where to change to make it have waves... I can still make it bouncy, but I think the crazy sine cosine tangent waves are gone.

looks a hella lot better than the flat transparent floor

Blockland has "realistic" texture water too. I'm sure there's an option to change it to look like studs. if bricks float that would be awesome. i wish blockland started doing stuff like this and stuff. roblox is getting a sort of pseudo-technic support too which I really want. i mean, it should be possible now after v21.
The "realistic" textures don't look that great though, this is using proper bumpmapping and stuff to look nicer.  I'd love to see refraction and stuff added to the water.

The water is too nice for roblox

This made my day

It's just an animated texture of water on gelatinous bricks. This can be done in blockland.

ew.

would it be possible for this to be ported to Blockland? animated skyboxes are possible, so why not this?

"Eww, Roblox has new content.

...can someone put it in Blockland?"

Nah, I am pretty satisfied with the default Blockland water.

thank you for mentioning that. I was beginning to wonder if anyone else even noticed

Same here.

if this was done in blockland, people would be praising it
imo roblox has better stuff at this point
realistic physics, bricks that dont have to line up to the grid so you can make custom vehicles and other goodies with it, in-game scripting, in lua, allows a lot more possibilities, etc
I still love and will love blockland more, but still my point stands
