Author Topic: Is this racism?  (Read 2545 times)

I think that's racism, I mean you don't see anyone saying "Hurry up blacks" or "Hurry up Chinese". It was used in an offensive context, there is no need to refer to them as Mexican, or whatever they are. They're just kids, and that's what they should be called regardless of their ethnicity's. Hope that teacher is fired.

I don't like Latino product's. And the name sounds silly.

Why.

Not tribal, but quite rude. He probably intended it in a joking way but whatever.
An orange is an orange. Am I tribal against oranges for calling an orange an orange?
A person wearing a blue shirt is a person wearing a blue shirt, am I tribal against people with blue shirts by saying: "Hey you, person in the blue shirt."?

If they were not Mexican, I can see where some offense would be taken; but it would be an incorrect observation.

A statement of observation, is not racism.
What?

You can't be tribal against an orange or people wearing blue shirts because that isn't a race???
Wearing a blue shirt and belonging to a race are 2 different things??

I hate how kids try to rat out the teacher in every way possible.

Seriously, your friend should just shrug it off. It's not a big deal.

Calling a fat guy fat is still rude, though.

Even though the teacher probably shouldn't of said that I think this is more about the kid wanting the teacher to get fired due to some hate/ just wanting him gone. I bet he said that as a joke If he really was "tribal" he probably would of done something worse.

but being mexican isn't really something you should be ashamed of, he was rude, not tribal at all
