Author Topic: The Walking Dead V2 - Season 2 Teased!  (Read 2642 times)

I dare someone, first thing they do, to play through this always choosing to trust people. Just for a laugh, since they are playing up the "don't trust" route. :P
"Hey kid, you want some candy?"

What always annoyed me about The Walking Dead was that your decisions didn't really matter. You'd almost always end up at the same place with the same events taking place. Sure, there were some important choices, (Like who to save at the end of Season 1) but not many.

In heavy rain, for example, if you screwed up your characters could die. You had to think about decisions.
It's still a great game.

Anyone replaying through Season 1?

The Walking Dead was that your decisions didn't really matter.

so you're saying that you can't get a character killed with ones own decisions.
Well, no matter what choices you make, Ben dies, Carly or the nerd dude gets shot by Molly, the tribal guy gets killed the same way whether you save him or not, you get bit, you and clementine end up in the house together at the end like, no matter what your choices are, you have no control over the important parts of the story. all your choices change at the little details.
It would be ludicrously expensive to make the game completely change based off your decisions. Didn't it only cost $30 to begin with?

Not saying it wasn't one of the best games I ever played, because it was.
I'm just saying that your choices affecting the story of the game is an illusion, and your choices don't really affect any major plot point whatsoever
Yeah, It's the only game to make me cry out of sadness(not frusteration).
I kind of figured that's how the game worked and I honestly liked it a bit more that way so when I was playing it I was more entertained by the movie like aspect of it and not frustrated with every wrong decision I make like a game can make you be.[spoiled]

I didn't play walking dead s1 it but I watched it twice, I'll do that with this one too.

Clementine walked out of her room to find that all of the other survivors were gone.

Bump.

I have a feeling that Telltale might deal with the topic of child enthusiasm and then there will be mass controversy over Season 2.

Just a small prediction.

It disappointed me because a major feature they advertised was choice, and the fact choice had no real influence on the most major events really bothered me. I understand the task of branching a story from all those possible decisions, but if you advertise on the feature of choice, that's an expected difficulty. At the very least, the ending could have changed depending on the choices made. It was just disappointing considering what was... Promised? Suggested? Either way... Well, it was a good game. Yeah..
