Author Topic: what doesn't badspot purge inactive/zero post accounts  (Read 1099 times)

they'res like 50k of them, wouldn't it make sense to?

Probably not worth his time.

What's the point? It's not bothering you, is it?

Not really.
Some people have separate accounts in case they ever got banned.

Sounds really stupid, but it's true.

If its possible, cant he just like filter all the accounts with inactive ones from the last time they've been on for like a year or 2 and no posts and just delete those?

SMF has a very simple pruning system.

He should use it to delete all users who:
- have 0 posts
- have no BL_ID

Yeah, go ahead and delete all the lurkers' accounts who usually end up being really good forum members.

it might be nice to get rid of the spambot accounts
for example, adultegg3, adult5guitar, and zipper8beer - i'm pretty sure those are all failed spambots

there's not much reason to do so other than it'll clean up the members list but idk

this would be a good idea
i know there are a few people who have extra names saved but they can just remake those accounts if it's important

this wouldn't be an issue if only accounts without a BLID are deleted
unless someone made an account before buying the game and was planning to attach the ID to it after buying the game
i'm not sure if a lot of people do that though

I know what you mean, but it wouldn't be right. A lot of these people paid for these accounts and they didn't break any rules. A lot of these once inactive users come back from their long hiatuses as well.

again it wouldn't be a problem if only accounts without BLIDs attached were deleted
accounts that do have BLIDs should be left alone since some people who haven't posted in like a year might still come back, you never know

He can use a filter for only members with no BL_ID.

I see no problem with getting rid of people with no ID and posts. I think there are still a few AoT-only players that have posts in active threads, so I'm not sure how deleting their posts would work out.
