Author Topic: "America's Best Value Inn" (not-so-funny rant alert)  (Read 2270 times)

Warning: This topic will sound extremely tribal but I swear it's not.

So I spent the night in Oklahoma City after checking into this very sketchy motel called "America's Best Value Inn and Suites" and I thought about the title. America's "Best Value" didn't sound very legit to me. We paid $74 ($65 including tax), entered and got ready for bed. The first thing I noticed was a hole in the wall, almost as if somebody kicked that hole in. Then, my brother and I did the most important check: the internet.

Now, we had internet connection up front but we didn't in our room. We called and asked about it and it turns out that the place was run by Indians. No, we're not talking about Indians because not all of them are bad. We are talking business Indians, like the ones that try to scam you over the phone. The lady over the phone said she restarted the router and said IT WAS PROBABLY THE loving WIND THAT WAS AFFECTING THE ROUTER.

WHAT?

We called back and told them it still wasn't working and they offered us a different room; funny enough, it was farther away from the router.

We let it slide for the night and we both used the 4G and eventually went to bed because we refused to waste bandwidth when we were supposed to have hotel internet. I QQ'ed myself to sleep because of my lack of being able to chill that night but at least I got some sleep for once (only bright side to this story lol).

Woke up to my mom and dad complaining about how they "literally had to fight" (Yelling and arguing and such) to get TWO more towels (since they only provided two and there were four of us) and soap. Apparently they were also acting unprofessionally by throwing soap at my mom across the counter (not directly at her, but in her direction) when she asked for two bars of soap and two shampoo packs.

Then more stuff happened and the husband of the wife (the people running the place) was yelling his ass off at my dad and this is where stuff gets real.

My dad is an architect who will forget anyone up the ass legally if there's some sort of building issue. There were damages inside and outside, several safety hazards (propane tanks under critical areas, loose wires everywhere, steep sidewalks that I loving tripped on twice last night and almost broke my ankle by landing on it wrong), and just overall bad service.

Well, my dad had it with these motherforgeters and called the police, had me find the number for the Oklahoma building inspection department and such, and best of all, asked for our money back. At first they offered to give 50% back but he said he wanted it all. Well, the police came and the best possible outcome came through:

They were shut down until repairs were made. They were also doing a renovation without any signs or whatever it was you needed to give notice that you were renovating a building, which my dad called the building inspection service and reported everything to them including this specific detail and they laughed about it and said "I don't think so." (Talking about them renovating without letting people know.) So they're going to send down an officer immediately and they're gonna check out the places and also probably have a health inspector check out the rooms considering we found a loving catheter under the bed. lol.

In the end, they did give us our full refund, and we got them shut down for a while, so gg, Indians. lmao.

TL;DR: Indians tried scamming us with their disgusting, unhealthy, dangerous motel, and we got them shut down as a result and got all of our money back.

Don't ever stay at America's Best Value Inn And Suites.

Just don't.

The wind effects my internet :s

The wind effects my internet :s

You mean it affects your internet. Effect is a noun. Affect is a verb, which means to cause an effect on.

The wind effects my internet :s
Same.

But that's generally due to it bashing around all the copper wires in the phone-lines that we still use.

I can't wait for fibre-optic to become available (and hopefully affordable).
I hate having to cancel my plans because it's stormy outside.

Just pried this from the internet. You can find plenty of answers like this all over.

The internet would literally be the last thing I even thought about staying at a stuffty motel. I'm more concerned with the love stains on the mattress, bed bugs, the mold growing anywhere moisture is, and the mystery stains all over.

I don't know what the people at the hotel were on about, or if they had a misunderstanding, but the way in which the internet can be affected by the wind that tails and I understand is that it can disrupt the cables providing the internet to your house, namely the phone lines.

It can't affect wifi.

I honestly don't see what you're complaining about.
There was a loving catheter under the bed, how many other places do you know that go to such an extent for the customer?

You don't get Virgin Fibre-Optic in your area? I live in Tuebrook and I get 100mbit/s fibre-optic for around £30 a month.

Title misleading, rant wasn't that funny.  Also you're tribal as hell.

we stayed at a motel that had a racoon in our room once
when we told them they gave us a different room instead of like
getting it out lol

shouldn't have put funny in the title, that was terrible
