And now for an actual one:

I used to think that there were cheat codes in real life, but no one knew about them yet.

I used to think there were cheat codes on every single video game, and people just randomly find them (some probably do, but I think most are released otherwise).  I always thought "I'm gonna be the very FIRST one to find a cheat for this game!"

Then I would ask my dad if I could be a member of gamewinners.com because I thought I had found a super cool glitch.  My avatar would walk in circles by itself.  Turns out, my controller brown townog stick was moved a trivial amount to the right.

From 2005-2006, I lived in a house that really did have secret areas that I never went in.  These areas had wild animals that got through the roof in them though, like bats, raccoons, and squirrels.
