Author Topic: Detailed Tree Bricks WIP  (Read 5828 times)

I am trying to fix up some bricks and package them together. Basically I'm making a detailed tree brick pack which is a combination of elm's and GSF Ghosts' trees.

However, as you can see, I have a few problems. (The large palm tree was fixed.)

(edited image to show both bounding box and brick, this is not a prop brick.)
And I can't set the brick size correctly because the bricks are off-center.
Also, some of the colors don't look right, I tried to make all the colors the same but it seems they are glitching out a bit. Might be the UV coords.

Would someone help me please?

I don't think Elm really wants people to release his bricks. (yes I know that there are places you can download them, but I'm saying he does not really want them released in the add ons section)

I don't care. Private add-ons are a horrible concept.

EDIT: I just found out I had oak and maple mixed up, and the 'swamp' tree was a willow tree. I fixed it so I'll upload it again. Also untested icons for elm's trees.

I like the progress so far.

Also, private add-ons are a troubling issue.
I have some private add-ons, and if I had them released without my permission, i would be very displeased.

Then again, sometimes I want stuff like Elm's trees.
But you guys gotta remember. You're not entitled to anyone's models just because they made them.
This entitlement stuff needs to end.

Elm's trees are very useful. They can fit in with many builds, look nice, and are trees. People could really use them and make awesome things, but because elm wants them private for some dumb reason, not many people know about it and will continue making builds that look pretty bad because of the default lego tree. People usually aren't trying to build lego-like, they are trying to build realistically. They want realistic trees to fit in, as well as other bricks that may be private that I might not know about.

and here we see a wild pandan being a prick to people who have a different opinion than him

did you know that a pandan in the wild will try to be a prick at least 3-5 times a day? yes it sure is surprising!

Looks like a neat pack. I'd use it for sure and I'll have no problem approving it on RTB provided appropriate credit is given.

And who do you think you're being a prick to?

Elm.

I like the pack. And hopefully Elm is happy about this.
But i digress.

Elm.
funny thing is that elm was the one who basically
made an add-on and then handed it around to all his little buddies
im just... ehh... 'extending' the distribution of this quality add-on.
