General Opinions on Personal add-ons?

when i was testing my playertypes last week, I asked  the people on my server if they were running shaders.

Like, 24 of them said no

I'm glad to hear that the majority of you guys aren't as stupid as the ones I've seen here posting in this thread.

Considering a lot of forumers don't play the game. They wouldn't understand how frustrating getting your build stolen or getting your add-on released early would feel.

having something you've worked on copied is a pretty universal situation so i'm sure there's not a single person who can't relate to it somehow

not everyone ties their ego in with their creations. i know plenty of people who have invested a lot of time in things but still couldn't give a stuff if someone else decides to rip it

i still really want to know how people are pulling models from the cache now

to me that should work on the same basis as 'build stealing' - if you don't want people using your creative assets in their own servers, you shouldn't be hosting it in public

sure if you wanna rip someone's stuff an make an even more half-assed version for your server, there's probably not much wrong with it, but don't expect to be allowed to release it without the original author's permission

What's to not understand? The thread would've gone perfectly well had you not picked another fight with somebody. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with getting involved in a debate, but you stooped to personally attacking people for having differing opinions. That's not cool at all.

I never said you were? Your major malfunction was that you were flinging names at people who weren't involved in the drama you stirred up. You insulted everyone who didn't pick your favorite poll option.

but yeah add-ons should at least be released at SOME POINT
i mean what would life be like if badspot never released his add-ons
or if ephi never released rtb

Any use of this add-on besides the creator will be judged in a e-court of law.
