Author Topic: Music Megathread  (Read 238047 times)

Hey all! Recently I made a topic stating that I had recently become a member of Audioland Records, joining our own DJ Mango and YoungRotations.

Tonight, we released my debut single, Nails, which can be heard on YouTube or SoundCloud. Click the YouTube one if you can, I made some cool visuals for it. :)

Anyway, I'm super excited about this - it's my first taste of working professionally in the music industry. This will be the first time I have music uploaded to Spotify and iTunes.

Anywho, I must say thanks to the forumers who have stood by me as I progressed. To name a few:

Couatl
Bloukface
Treynolds (even though the stuff you said was critical, it was taken into consideration and is appreciated)
Everyone in the music megathread
Anyone who follows me on SoundCloud

Thanks forums. If you like the video or song, consider sharing it, too - I'm trying to help Audioland grow as much as possible. :)

Also, here's the artwork for anyone interested. First time I've taken a photo specifically for album art.

I tried my hand at mixing. 'Twas fun.

I want you guys' opinions on this
In my mind, here's what would make this the perfect track:

Make the main melody instrument a little more ambient (but not much!) and slightly less like an electric piano, more organic sounding.

The buzzy synth at the end? Lower it an octave, add some width, and lower the volume.

Make the pads more ambient.

Vary the melody's instrument a bit - switch from the original instrument to another and then back again.

Add some foley - chimes, bells, forest sounds, etc - at various places in the song.

This track definitely has potential, keep with it. :)

I like it.
The guitar riff is good and catchy, as are the vocals.
The drummer seems like he can't decide what cymbals to play during the chorus but he did a good job too. That constant switching really bothers me though.

By the way, is there a janitor in there?

I need to fix the volume though, its weird

Feed Me - Cotts face and Green Velvet - Flash (Nicky Romero Remix)
I also fixed the issue with the audio cutting out at the vocal, I'll reupload when all issues are fixed

the first percussive-type things are from my guitar, if that's what you're referring to haha.

I had one of those "Oh no, everything I've ever made is garbage" moments and edited out my posts. Anyways I finished this dark classical song.

Pretty good. Definitely a breath of fresh air from all the repetitive dancy electronic music being made now.

A jazzy progish piano piece I put together earlier. I'll probably add more to it at some point.
