Here's something I came up with. This is my first time even trying to make a song. It's pretty much a loop I was screwing around with, but I'd like to make it into an actual song. What should I add/improve?

Sounds good, but it needs more parts (more chord progressions, more tunes, changing instrumentation, etc) to be a proper full piece of music and not just a short loop.  It's up to you what to do with the rest of it, really.  As long as it's not outright dissonant and bad, pretty much anything is an acceptable stylistic choice.

Well, first of all you should probably change it from 'electric' to 'electronic' haha. Anyways it would probably make good video game music or something.

Thoughts on this?

I think all of your stuff on soundcloud is really good. Lots of depth and variety, and you can really capture an atmosphere (a pirate scene for instance).

I like it.
The guitar riff is good and catchy, as are the vocals.
The drummer seems like he can't decide what cymbals to play during the chorus but he did a good job too. That constant switching really bothers me though.

By the way, is there a janitor in there?

I actually kind of like it. At least it's somewhat deviant from the usual boom boom boom boom dancey crap you usually find in electronic music.

I am kind of desperate for criticism because I'm still a beginner (I think?) and I can't really gauge how good my stuff is yet.

also if anyone can answer it by ear is Devil's New Scarf major or minor (or neither??)

yeah Bb minor is one of the more prominent chords so i assumed minor

but so is C augmented and I think C is the tonic so is C+ the main chord or is Bb minor??? This is when I don't get theory.

From the stuff you put up I can tell you have potential, and generally understand how to make music that is entertaining and sounds okay. After some practice and some polish I think you'll be doing well before long.
