Maps cannot be in the game period. They were too hard to work with for developers.
Uhh duh I wouldn't be here if I didn't that stuff. What i'm trying to say is that they can bring back the old map system but disable shaders on them since it was detected to be bumpy. Since didn't kompressor say in one the posts he didn't feel like rewriting the map system to be cleaner or something like that. If true he should do it since it would please both sides. Even more with the people who can't run shaders.

because that's a forgetin' stupid idea. why in the hell would the game selectively show shaders based on what map you're on? that doesn't make any sense. you might as well turn off shaders altogether.
So you want them to have shaders/shadows on terrain maps even though they said it would be stress full to even a modern computer.

gee i dunno steam
The steam update isn't even out yet.

EXACTLY c:

I can even begin to consider how much of an idiot you have to be to come up with a response like that.

Terrain maps are never coming back so I don't even know why you'd mention those. Additionally, nothing is forcing you to turn on shaders. They're an option, holy stuff.

I was just letting out an opinion even if it wasn't an reasonable one also why is every reply I hear from you makes you sound more like a ass.

Oh my god. I loving lost hope in Bl community.

By the way to those who are begging so hard for it:
Maps aren't coming back. So your opinion is equal stuff, unfortunately.

1. I'm not begging
2.I don't care what you think of my opinion(s)
3.I still like maps :3

Shader quality needs to be on Low or higher to see the shadows

Models will also appear more shiny on Minimum or higher

49 people cant build XD
anyone can build, building correctly is the true question

lol what updates did we have since then?
like stufftons??? hell, only the major fixes and additions/removals are documented, there's tons more minor fixes

So you want them to have shaders/shadows on terrain maps even though they said it would be stress full to even a modern computer.
to be fair, given enough time the map system could possibly be optimized. that will take time and effort though, things that badspot and kompressor need for more important updates (the most obvious being integration into steam). it's only a two-man show here; more popular games by large companies have entire teams dedicated solely to optimization.

a good example is cortex command, that game lags on a forgetin nasa supercomputer simply because it's not optimized.

It's not like I expect them to whip out a fixed maps system in week. They should take there time to have a very well built and flexible map system. But they should at least tell us if they are making one so it will stop these threads popping up.
Heck I would wait a year for a efficient and good looking map system then not see one ever.
