Author Topic: Conspiracy Theory: Google to sink YouTube via Google Barges  (Read 2093 times)

Google Barges is just another one of those google apps. I can't remember where I read about it, but it's a place where a few people will be selected to beta test official google apps and updates to see if they work. They were probably made after the inception of Google+ so that there would be a large enough thing to test. Basically Google Barges is going to be a beta testing service and the final Google app. I've already envisioned a typical visit to the Google Barge center.

As you're entering the facility via Google Docks you hear a female GLaDOS-like voice speak to you.
"Please remember to leave all unnecessary items in the Google Drive upon entry. The safety of your files is important to us." As you're dropping off the flash drives that contain your life savings and 3d objects that are to be opened with the special Google Printer*, the door opens. "Subjects 42-63, please board the Barge for quality control testing."

So you begin to board, and then the Security guard stops you. He's missing a hand, but thanks to Google Hospitals (easily accessible from your Google+ account), it looks like he's still got one. Prosthetics are still being worked on, and Subjects 100-111 are to be beta testing them.

"Google Card?" You hand him your Google Card. "Thank you. Please proceed through this Google Door to the nearest Google Waiting Room so you can begin your testing. Thank you for your cooperation."

As you're proceeding through the door, you hear the robot voice again. "All subjects numbered 42 to 63 are requested to stop at the Google Loading Center to pick up their Google Tray so it can begin insertion."

You, Subject 46, begins to walk towards the Google Loading center, a cafeteria-like center where people get their Trays inserted into them so that they can properly withstand the dramatic sometimes harmful effects of testing. The Trays are disposed of upon leaving.

When you get there, a Google Drone, a robot, takes one of the small Trays and slides it in your head, as if there were a slit there or a tiny hole. But you feel no pain from the insertion. It is a painless, friendly experience.

When your Google Tray has been inserted, the Google Drone speaks to you. "This is to protect against harmful psychological effects after testing. We request that you now enter your designated door. There will be a number above the door indicating your Google ID. Then you enter that room and the test will begin. Thank you for your cooperation."

You walk down the long hallway and find your Google ID. You enter the room and it's completely blank, white, free of anything except a large Plusbook, the computer that Google has recently made to accommodate Google+. It begins to speak to you as you stand in front of it.

"Welcome ID 46-346529163. We can begin your testing now. I'll open the application you'll be testing now so you can begin to feed us information."

And there it is: Google+ Video.

You begin to say that you don't like it. But you fall down the Google Chute for disposal.

Hail Google.

Why? I think this could ruin YouTube by Google doing this, I would just use Vimeo instead for free entertainment if Google did this.

remember google video

oh god

I do, I used it when I was a young kid before YouTube came out from 2005 to mid-2006, memories.

does this mean we have to google-coat our words for the upcoming googleification of the internet

google can already kill youtube and force everyone into using google+ for video hosting.

its not like there is anything else people use for videos lol

What if

this world is an elaborate holodeck simulation. And you're the only real person here.

So instead of paying for people to come around to beta test stuff, they just bring the tech to them.

Then someone breaks in due to lax control on hacking/other devices to break in and they're boned. :cookieMonster:

maybe someone can make BlocklandVideo
VBlogland

only good

the a.i are gaining sentience
the system has become unstable

Time for someone to make a new Youtube

We should all leg it to vimeo while Google is going through it's "hip social network" phase

I don't think Google can just cut off Youtube out of no where. I mean, they must be making some percent of their money just from Youtube alone, and I think they'd loose a whole ton of money from cutting it off.
