Steam Problems

I am trying to run steam on my two computers with different accounts for each computer.
My old computer is well, old, and so it doesn't run very well.
It gets this error:

Could not connect to steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your Internet connection, or with the
Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info


I checked and the old computer was able to go on websites ect
what do

is hat comp able to log into steam by itself? like when the other comp isnt using it?

Try deleting ClientRegistry.blob
It's in your Steam folder.
