You're right, but it would still be nice to take my mom out for a nice lunch on this day rather then be in school. Did you ever think that it may be more then just me having a day off? Clearly not.

we have memorial day. the exact same holiday basically.

or 4th of july, thats similar enough to the same thing.

We always have class on Remembrance Day in the UK, I don't see what the big deal is. We have a minutes silence and get straight back to lessons.

Take her out for a nice dinner? It seems like you're just bitching to get a day off from school. There''s no reason for it to be a day off because nobody would do anything different on it.

I did too, didn't complain.
I wouldn't have minded if we missed a day, but I don't feel entitled to miss a day of school because of a holiday that is more minor but can still be celebrated without having to miss school

we celebrate our fighting men and woman, by all going about our lives as normal.
because they "sacrificed" for that honor. XD

Today is the day is supposed to day the first world war ended, basically it was originally used remember the first world war and those that died in it. However the US changed it to remember veterans of all wars.
