Basically, these. The famous sonic screwdriver from the longest running sci-fi show, Doctor Who.

Abilities

Opens JVS Doors, doesn't matter if there is no other trigger to it such as onActivate and even if the door's locked, it'll still open it
Closes JVS Doors - You must be dumb if you need a explanation for this one
OnActivate Event Trigger - Triggers onActivate from any range
Disables/Enables Vehicles - Land vehicles just stop working, air vehicles fall
Toggle Bots On/Off - Obvious
Disarm - Forces a player to drop his weapon, as if he pressed Ctrl+W

The biggest problem I have with this is making it fit with the blocko style (more with the 11th than 10th/9th is this a problem)

Another thing is that it will always be held in the upright position, it can't be pointed the way they do in the show. Also, I don't think JVS support is really what you want (you might just want to have an OnProjectile hit event going on)

Could always make a hand as part of the model and just hide the player's hand.

This would be fun to script.

someone make the script so all you have to do is rename the .dts or whatever (lugnuts knows nothing about actual modelling - don't you have to specify an offset or some stuff?)

then whenever a modeller gets around to making it, they just rename the model, plop it in the zip, and we're ready to go


note on the onActivate thing - make it take longer from a longer range. i'm thinking a logarithmic scale..?

I think you have way too many features. The Sonic Screwdriver should not be able to forget with other add-ons, because they can all be evented. All we need is an event called onSonicked (or something) and onVehicleSonicked.

Having the brick evented is just stupid. Have you even watched Doctor Who? A Sonic Screwdriver is supposed to unlock and trigger everything.

That's where your wrong. The only thing the sonic screwdriver doesn't work on is wood so it doesn't unlock/trigger everything.

Obviously. I have watched Doctor Who, and I get that, but builders should be able to determine what should and shouldn't be unlocked. Usefulness is more important than faithfulness. If it unlocked everything, no questions asked, then you couldn't keep people with a SS from opening any door.

At least make it an RTB pref.

One blockhead cannot simply wrench a brick and add a deadlock.
