Author Topic: Version switcher  (Read 1737 times)

it would be epic if you could switch versions from the blockland launcher so we can maybe go back to the version with maps or something like that

The point is to move forward. Not to split the player base because people miss maps because they can't build in a loving building game.

umm, why would we do this. this has no point at all. why would we change the version if we can just
BUILD THE MAPS.

dude that would be so epic
bedpost should hire you

I mean, it isn't like it would be that hard to install the entirety of Blockland just to switch versions.

this isn't possible given the present update system, sorry. you'd need a modification for badspot, or an illegitimate and possibly malicious workaround by another user.

I'm pretty sure only one copy of that was needed to get the point across.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure this won't be made considering most posts that involve someone hosting a V20 server get fail binned and the fact V21 users can't join V20 servers properly.

Minecraft has a version switcher when you switch a version it says that the version is buggy and not supported. So they're not responsible to what happens. Why can't Blockland have one, seriously stop getting so easily hurt from these kind of topics. This isn't even one of the ones which say bring back terrainz!

well, it's what they're insinuating.

anyway, blockland can have one, it's not physically impossible, but badspot would have to personally implement it.

an outside program is feasible, you would only want to switch between the current version and a map supporting one

the biggest problem with this is that the source for the alternate copy would have to come from an untrusted, not-badspot source. this is bad. compromise that source and you can forget with anyone using the mod. (course, compromise badspot and you forget up all of blockland, but that's beside the point)

certain forums members are more trustworthy than others however

hmm instead of a answer i got critCIAm locking.....
