Author Topic: My Dad's iPhone 5 is cracked  (Read 2705 times)

My dad recently dropped the phone off of his desk at work, and it was positioned right enough that the screen just cracked. The case didn't really protect it much, so the whole front is just cracked. He has to be careful when using it or else he might cut himself.

I know you guys aren't much of Tech Support, but do you know any cheap services my dad could use to help in this situation? He gets paid after work tomorrow and I want him to have enough money so me and him can do fun stuff on the weekend. Apple Care he doesn't have, and they don't support cracked screens anyway.

Here is how it looks like:

Just in case you need to look for local places, I'm located in the Crestwood, MO area.

Thanks if you can help me in this situation.

I don't have an iPhone but if its just your screen I'm pretty sure you can order one online for real cheap

Why is it always the iPhones that get cracked? Are they that fragile?

I thought you meant he jailbroke it, lol.

Inb4 the An-drones that come in here andd stuff on the iPhone.

Just take it to a local phone repair shoppe. I'm sure there's ads in the paper or online.

Lots of mall kiosks will do it for $100. At least the every mall I have been to has some kind of iPhone/Cell phone repair shop or kiosk.

Otherwise you could order the special tool for taking it apart and a new glass screen to do it yourself. You might be able to shave off $20 or so dollars this way, idk.

Take it into the shop and say the speaker cuts out when making calls and you unfortunately managed to drop it on the way in. If you get a nice person they'll probably just give him a new one, has worked for a couple of people I know.

So I found this place:
iSmart (G+ page)
iSmart's actual site

and also this place:
CPR (Cell Phone Repair) Brentwood (G+ page)
CPR (Cell Phone Repair) Brentwood's Main Website

Which one should I recommend to my father, because I have no idea how to get their prices or costs to fix it.

That's like 30 minutes from where I live wow.

I've had my phone drop before glass flat on the pavement a few times and picked it up without any cracks or scratches.

get a better case next time
