Author Topic: Adblock stop working for anyone else?  (Read 1846 times)

Suddenly on sites like youtube or 4chan I'm getting all the ads it should block.
But it says it's enabled, the icon is right next to then address bar.

What's going on?

I've heard websites learned to purge adblocking programs.

I have an "Adblock for Youtube" extension. Look that up.

I'm really on the fence about adblock. I never used it until youtube started having ads with volume that would pop out of nowhere. That got really loving annoying really quick. I never take the time to disable it for other sites unless I need to do it to see content. But I've never sympathized with those that bitched and moaned about websites having ads. I've kind of been hoping that eventually websites are able to get around adblocker.

Most of the ads I've seen online are pretty stuffty, and I can't imagine an intellegent person actually being influenced by them.
The video commercials on youtube are a different story, but I think the world would be better off without "check out this diet drug the government doesnt want you to know about" and "enter your credit card number to see if your idenity has been stolen".

Besides, having to depend on ads to make money just seems scummy.

i use TRIPLE protection
adblock AND adblock for youtube AND ADBLOCK PLUS

Someone should just make an adblock for research extension. I don't give a stuff about other ads, but I don't know who the hell thinks I want to see 20 inch dongers while I'm trying to watch my loving straight research.
