Author Topic: How Do I NOT Suck At Drawing?  (Read 1454 times)

It's always irritated me that I had no drawing ability in my body. Even a stick figure I draw ends up looking like a tree that went through a hurricane.

I looked it up, watched videos, I just can't do it. Could anyone help, or point me to a video series or something that ISN'T useless?

Here's an idea of how bad I am:

(Yes, I actually tried my hardest on this)
I'd just love to have a basic understanding of the skill, I don't want to "really loving good", just alright.

That's not as bad as you're what describing it.

If drawing skills is what you wish, then there is only one place you can attain them.
In the arena!

I draw all throughout my 4th period class. Sometimes my drawings get worse.

practice

This is really the only way to get better at drawing.
The only thing is, it's frustratingly slow.

Yeah, pretty much. I've spent a lot of time drawing since kindergarten and I'm still mediocre.

this may only apply to cartoony styles, but drawing faces until you get a style you really like is key, then you build around that. thats what worked for me at least.

I'm getting a lot better right now, but my drawing is still stuff on the computer + can't afford a drawingt ablet.

i always draw a nice half of a person then the other half of them looks like they were put into a blender

Just draw something over and over. Look at the actual thing, and try your best to replicate it. And, if you can't draw realistically, just draw cartoons.

Actually I can make okay observational drawings with enough time.
