Go forget yourself. My friends dad works at McDonald's and he can barely provide for him and my friend, so forget you and your arrogance.
i don't see how that changes his point

I wouldn't say forget poor people, and the teenagers are okay, but please, don't ask for more loving money. You work a stuff job, don't expect to be paid more.

Teenagers do not need $15/hour.

he can barely provide because he works at a fast food place...

it doesn't matter what minimum wage will ever be. middle and high payed people will be bumped up to fill the ratio, the price of rent/homes buying cars, food, products and services will go up in price to meet another ratio.

that dad and his kid will always struggle because his bad decision was either having more then just himself to provide for, or that he hasn't improved himself enough to get a better job.

He's been looking for a better job, the part that angered me was that he called him a drop out handicap and a druggy. That is what pissed me off.

It doesn't make him handicapped you twat.

sorry did i hurt your feelings princess

to be fair its sort of a poverty spiral
there are exceptions, of course. experience and hard work beats a degree any day, but:
  • college requires money
  • you get enough money from good job
  • good job requires degree (in most cases)

The problem:

Say minimum wage is $8 an hour, but you need $8.50 to live comfortably.

You gather a plethora of fast food workers and start a strike to bring minimum wage up to $8.50 so you can provide enough to live comfortably.

The strike was a success! You and your friends have managed to change the law to fit your needs! No longer do you need to worry about being able to put food on the table or pay your rent. You have just the right amount of money to do so.

However, to combat this loss in profit, many companies begin to raise their prices by a few cents, practically unnoticeable. This "unnoticeable" price difference adds up, and suddenly...

You need $9 an hour to live comfortably.

Student loans exist for a reason

i think its pretty safe to say that a good amount of workers at fast food chains are either dropouts or drug addicts or whatever kind of life-crippling situation-dealing people you want to label them as
he was making a generalization, not singling out your dad. there's a huge difference.

Exactly. This is why raising the minimal wage will only make things worse.
