tl;dr middle-class, well-off teenagers/young adults discuss how the less fortunate are loving greedy

yeah except companies are making record profits and paying very little in taxes
see: facebook and pretty much every other big business
And big businesses are good! If the government raises minimum wage they're still going to fire workers because for some reason they like money.

Except for the fact that I am high middle class and I am trying to advocate for the less fortunate while wealthy 14 year olds try and blame the poor for all their problems.

thats the problem that i have yet to solve
i dont know why it really matters when the money is just sitting there

Of course there are people who aren't acting like that. Thanks for not fitting that description.

It's quite the vicious cycle. In order to make decent money, you need a degree. To get a degree you need to go college, which costs money to pay for all of your classes that you need for major plus the extra classes that you don't need because the school requires that you take just to receive your degree. Also employers are now requiring that you have work experience or job history, so you can't just get a degree and get hired as a computer programmer. You could get a loan, but those are just debt traps.

The only way to avoid the cycle is to apply for financial aid(which is a handout by the way so use it responsibly) or get a Pell grant.

this isnt the 1930s
Clearly you don't live near any families who are of minority.

he wasn't just talking to you.

I won't even.

For some reason, I seem to be getting the inkling that he's being sarcastic.

Anyway, I'm going to pretend to be neutral and beg you guys to convert me to one side. Give me hard evidence (ie, not your own opinion. articles would be lovely~) that they deserve/don't deserve a raise because I just want to be a bit more informed. I know this might sound stupid, but this is a personal social experiment of sorts that I wanted to try out during a relatively calm debate online.

kalph doesn't believe in reward for your own hard work in life.

or he does, and believes that a loving McDonalds job = a good effort in life.
don't know.
