I don't follow, if you mean can I explain why I think I understand why they want more money it's because I've been in similar work, it sucks and if you were paid based on what you had to deal with it'd be insulting to be paid so low. Of course some others want it so they can support a family, the minimum wage can support a single person for sure but a family/multiple people is out of the question, but I'm assuming they either 1. don't understand how increasing the minimum wage works (or don't understand how pay is determined) or 2. feel entitled to more for some reason. But I can see how you'd want more money regardless of what you did as long as you could support a family that you provide for.

raising minimum wage so dramatically would be ridiculously devastating

i don't think i have to explain why. labour is already so expensive in the US. raising it by what would be at least 100% in most places would be stupid.

that's not to say the current minimum wage is substantial for most people at all; it's not nearly enough for the US's cost/standard of living, but that's a pretty dramatic pay raise there.

I actually think that fast food should be more expensive. One dollar for a crummy, fatty burger is just pure crap while a small bag of apples or something might be like $5-10 dollars. That's just bullstuff.

I don't think a lot of you know how stressful and difficult it can be to work fast food. In my opinion they deserve at least $10/hr.

jobs don't pay more because of stress or difficulty. they pay more depending on skill needed or low supply of people that can do the job.
