Author Topic: Issues with braces (rant I guess)  (Read 1485 times)

So I just got braces not too long ago and this pain is horrible. I have asked multiple times to get mine taken out because the pain is just too much to handle on a daily basis. I also have a "bridge" type thing in the roof of my mouth and I can barely even eat rice/bread/etc because it gets stuck in between the bridge and my roof of my mouth and it has got it be one of the most uncomfortable experiences I have ever had. Not to mention since I can barely eat I feel nauseated and tired 24/7. My teeth were fine the way they were before now and I seriously didn't want braces but my dad paid full price at the first appointment so I'm forgeted now. How long until this pain wears off? I'm growing quite impatient with this stuff. Everyone says I'll get used to it but I'm not feeling used to it at all.

I had the same thing. The pain eventually goes away. Usually within 4 days to a week.

How does everyone's teeth get forgeted up? I never really understood.

it shouldn't take more than a week to adjust, at least from my experiences

though I dunno how long "not too long ago" is

About a week now iirc

I'm not sure either. Like I said, mine weren't too bad before I got braces but since the orthodontist suggested them, my parents were all for getting them. I see why they wanted to get them for me, so I'll have straighter teeth, but I just didn't want them or didn't feel like I needed them. Not to mention I haven't eaten in a few days because of the pain.

It usually happens by birth or naturally, because as a kid you always wiggled a fiddled around with your lose tooth do that the new tooth got a little crooked. I have to get my braces right after my 2 baby teeth come out.

genetics, mostly. there's also other factors, like thumb-sucking as a baby.

I never got braces and the way I see it is that I probably wont have teeth by the time I am old.

Since you just got the braces it'll be a couple of weeks before the pain goes away.

I have braces and thats how long it took to get use to them the first time.

Ha ha ha sucker
The pain never goes away until you get them off
I mean sure like it will stop
But about every month you have to go in and they will adjust them and they will hurt all over again for a few days
Enjoy c:

our teeth are naturally too large for our mouths, as we used to be Hunters.

how much do braces cost and is it comparable to invisalign

I don't think Invisalign is a braces alternative, I think it is a retainer alternative. I have some a set of Invisalign retainers. They are ok I guess but I never had a regular retainer so I don't know.
