am i the only one that thinks fallout is extremely overrated?
it's skyrim with guns

eg fetch quest central

I love how your choices; especially in the dlc, actually affected the world.
Yep, I liked how they brought back the slide show so I new what happened to the communities and people have interacted with.  It wasn't whether or no the peopled lived or died that mattered, it was how my actions changed those people either positively or negatively. Especially in Zion, either you leave the Sorrows as a peaceful tribe or turn them into a war like tribe that can fend for itself. Also I liked how it was impossible to save everyone, someone also got screwed in the story line. It was a nice breath of air rather than the generic everyone wins ending. It forced you to weigh your decisions carefully.

Repetitive clicking and fetch quests my break my fingers, but D20's and unique plot wont

um, iirc the 2D Fallout games were like 99% repetitive clicking, and I'm pretty sure Fallout 2 was one big fetch quest

all video games have repetitive clicking, but not as repetitive as shooting at that super mutant who is charging at you, then press tab to click on the stimpack button then tab out to continue shooting your underpowered assault rifle.

All the quests were go someplace and get something in Fallout 2. The only Fetch Quests in Fallout 2 were retrieve the Geck, go to New Reno to buy Air Filter, Get Hydro Electrosphere regulator from Vault City, and oil can...

oil can... oil can... oil can

Fallout 3's Fetch quests:
Get the geck
Morias quests to get land mines and stuff for her repellent stick
Get the ammo bag for Riley's Rangers
Get Something from Vault 87
Get your dad from Stanislaus Braun
Get the Abraham Lincoln Statue pieces and relics
Get stuff for 3 Dogs radio tower and fix it
Rescue the big town citizens
The Fort Constantine Quest
Get the Naughty night underway in the metro full of ants quest
Operation Anchorage
Rescue that Girl from point look out

actually yes?? fallout 2 is clicking. then clicking again. then doing it again. then again. then again. then maybe type something or press some button, and start clicking again

uhhhh
what do you think a fetch quest is?

It would have just been another green and brown shooter anyway.

uhhhh

I'm pretty sure that was a typo.

fall out 3 was awesome when I first played it. but i realized that I really only liked it for the atmosphere, the gameplay was pretty stuffty.

dayz standalone looks pretty promising as does that one zombie game i recently saw gameplay of, it has like mutants at night I cant remember what its called

Yeah computer games require a lot of clicking ...

I really don't understand your point

That's a genre called point-and-click adventure games.
A pretty good genre, too.

what do you think a fetch quest is?
Yes, you are basically a mailman or doing someone elses chores. This quote from TV Tropes will back up my claim.
Quote
"This is also known as a FedEx quest, since they often consist of little more than receiving an object from an NPC and taking it to a particular person or place or going to a particular place and bringing back an object. The people, places, and objects themselves are largely inconsequential — you're just their mail carrier." - TVTropes

did you just decide to read one post or something?? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, he was

Harm's talking about how stuffty Fallout 3's combat system is. It only consists of shooting bullet-spongey things over and over and over with an underpowered weapon while running backwards.
