I'm staying at a hotel in NYC and either the alarm system broke and turned itself on, or some doofus turned on the fire alarm.  No fire.  It was ≈2:30 am.  They were unable to turn the system off.

God damnit.

Better get some more sleep...

Yeah, luckily I don't have to rush anywhere tomorrow.

I have a phobia of fire alarms

I have a phobia of fire alarms
once I was at a hospital In The waitig room and a alarm randomly went off, whatss weird Is how it went off only one part, there was a red flashing light behind a door. Weird stuff.

And OP, I hope you are able to get some sleep sooner or later. (typed on iPod, can't type for stuff on this thing)

What Hotel, if i may ask?

A fire alarm test kinda failed at my school once. A message always plays during the alarm, which is basicly just instructions on what to do. The message kept repeating for about 3 hours, even when the alarm itself stopped.

I hate fire alarms with a passion

loving fire alarms

i live right next to a school, so like one time at 3 am, it went off.
like what the stuff, and it kept going on for another hour.
and oh boy
you do not know how loud and obnoxious those fire alarms are.

Fire alarms are sooo dumb why do we even have them I think we should just burn them all xD

My college normally has 1 fire drill every 3 months, and usually within the first 3 weeks of that first month.

Were 3 months in to the school year and soon to break up for Christmas. Still no fire drill, which is bizarre.

We had 3 practices and 1 hoax last year.

Burning fire alarms? I'm convinced

when I lived in an apartment they had the whole fire alarm thing going on. there were the strobe lights and alarms inside every apartment. which is great, for safety and all. but every once in a while they had to test them. idk why it takes several hours to test a fire alarm system. but apparently it does

Better than the last town I lived in with their weekly tornado alarm test.

my school has fire drills oftenly
sometimes they even have them when its like 20 degrees outside

also, sometimes we have "code red" drills, which are used if someone breaks into the school with a gun or something.
and we get an announcement "code red" and we have to all sit against the front of the classroom crushed together and the teacher closes all the blinds. There are also door blinds in which he/she closes, because the doors have small windows.

Also, we have electronic bells, which aren't regular bells. They sound like long beeps. And sometimes either it glitches or the controller presses an incorrect button, and it plays a sound like "boooo, BEEEP" and it goes on for like 8 seconds".
