Author Topic: Trojan Horse in TF2?  (Read 1874 times)

I tried looking it up but I didn't see anything about this online-

I was playing TF2 in 2fort and I got three different Avast! alerts telling me I have some sort of Trojan Horse. Here's Avast's virus report thingy it kept giving me-
The first one-

The second one-
&p_prc=C:\Program%20Files%20%28x86%29\Steam\steamapps\common\Team%20Fortress%202\hl2.exe&p_obj=http://www.cutemunchkins.com/wp-content/themes/cm/js/page.js&p_var=.%2Ffa%2Fen-us%2Fvirus-alert-default&p_elm=7&p_lex=127&p_lid=en-us&p_lng=en&p_lqa=0&p_lqe=0&p_lst=0&p_lsu=24&p_pro=0&p_bld=chr2%3Btris4&p_vep=8&p_ves=0&p_vbd=1489&p_hid=5065d5b1-5504-46a9-8068-8153816b1d57]http://www.avast.com/en-us/lp-fr-virus-alert?p_ext=&utm_campaign=Virus_alert&utm_source=prg_fav_80_0&utm_medium=prg_systray&utm_content=.%2Ffa%2Fen-us%2Fvirus-alert-default&p_vir=JS:ScriptXE-inf%20[Trj]&p_prc=C:\Program%20Files%20%28x86%29\Steam\steamapps\common\Team%20Fortress%202\hl2.exe&p_obj=http://www.cutemunchkins.com/wp-content/themes/cm/js/page.js&p_var=.%2Ffa%2Fen-us%2Fvirus-alert-default&p_elm=7&p_lex=127&p_lid=en-us&p_lng=en&p_lqa=0&p_lqe=0&p_lst=0&p_lsu=24&p_pro=0&p_bld=chr2%3Btris4&p_vep=8&p_ves=0&p_vbd=1489&p_hid=5065d5b1-5504-46a9-8068-8153816b1d57
And I didn't catch the last one

Is there any way to tell if this is a false alarm or if I actually have something here? Because I'm pretty doubtful that TF2 somehow has a virus in it

TF2 servers can display HTML pages that could have that JavaScript exploit on them (see "Infection").

Either disable them in advanced multiplayer options or put cl_disablehtmlmotd 0 in your autoexec.cfg.

What.

idk what to say.
Well crap
When I tested the link the url was still there, :/

Ah, that's probably it. Thanks!

is pinion pot o gold attacking?

This is why I only play on servers like (eG) or whatever it is, in other words ones that a bunch of players play on everyday and are trustful.

anyone actually using pinion doesn't deserve to have a server running, if you can't afford it to start with, don't bother. you shouldn't be grabbing what you can just because you didn't financially plan for it.

Trojan horse confirmed for tenth class

Trojan horse confirmed for tenth class
more like a payload

it reaches the end and explodes and a large number of random classes from your team fly out as expert-level AI and the round goes on for 1 more minute
