Author Topic: OSU! - Port's pp is weeping in the corner (Bung/Japanese Rhythm Game)  (Read 27376 times)

I'll try Q/W, I think I tried Z/X before and they were too close to the bottom of the keyboard for me.

I'll have to get used to it first, though.

also I still don't understand why pressing the buttons fast during the long beats in taiko mode makes them not register, on a real Taiko no Tatsujin machine you're supposed to hit the thing as fast as you can.

In osu!, you hit them to the rhythm of 1/4th notes.

No, I found the problem. It's the fact that I was using a controller instead of the keyboard. I'll have a video demonstration in a bit.

EDIT:

Second bit is the controller. You can very clearly see that a few hits don't register even if you hear them.

That's not the problem, as I said before:
you hit them to the rhythm of 1/4th notes.

In that video you're not doing this in either example.

yeah but

I don't think you're-

I'm confused as to what you're trying to tell me.

that's not my problem at all.

I can hit it to the same rhythm in either case and it'll only register "properly" in the first case.

If you've just been using the mouse buttons I'd definitely suggest using the keyboard, as for Z/X I just pushed my keyboard further on my desk so it felt comfortable, makes the game a lot easier when you get used to it.

Not my best accuracy but I cbf going back to fc it for now so w/e
No idea what happened to the quality of that video...

Turn off excuses in the menu
Try playing with a mouse, I'm sure tablets work better but if it's not working then y'know.

no but im serious about rythm games loving up like i tried playing pop'n music and every time i was supposed to hit the button the game froze for a second and my chance to hit the button has passed. and for osu im not sure what is going on

By a 1/4 rhythm, I mean the notes that are divided in 4 per beat. You have 1/1 which is one note per beat, 1/2 which is 2, and a 1/4 which is a fourth note. That's the rhythm you're to hit those long notes at.

It's hard to explain without an example though.

ok thanks for the info but again, that's not my problem at all.

the video is meant to demonstrate the fact that you can both hear and see a button press that doesn't register at all when I'm using a controller, but that doesn't happen when I use a keyboard.

It doesn't register with a keyboard because it's not in rhythm.

...I just said the hits register WITH a keyboard and not with the controller and we've gone full circle.

KEYBOARD = REGISTERS
CONTROLLER = DOES NOT REGISTER

DO YOU UNDERSTAND MY PROBLEM NOW

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I AM FRUSTRATED BECAUSE YOU KIND OF REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING

the FIRST PART OF THE VIDEO is the keyboard. EVERY SINGLE BUTTON PRESS REGISTERS EVEN IF IT'S NOT "IN RHYTHM"

the SECOND PART IS THE CONTROLLER where YOU CAN SEE AND HEAR BUTTON PRESSES THAT DON'T REGISTER. WITH THE CONTROLLER. AND NOT THE KEYBOARD.

Oh, sorry. I was confused, I thought the first part was the controller.
