Author Topic: DayZ - Standalone game now in steam! $30.00!  (Read 19517 times)

The DayZ community ruined Arma 2. All the once great milsim servers are now buried under DayZ. Also I hate the fact that a lot of those people in the community steal addons without giving credit or use the addons to make their own game with the intent of charging people to use it. Such practices have driven addon makers away such as Vilas.
I honestly agree with you there. I played arma 2 before dayz and when I eventually got bored of the mod, I came back to.. not so much.

However, I think both are in a better place with Arma 3 and Dayz Standalone separating the 2 communities

And to everyone in this thread calling me mad, no I am not mad. However I am annoyed by all you scrubs stuffting on this game when you havent even played it and making false claims. The game is in loving alpha you morons! I changed the topic title to reflect this.

Also Id like to point out how the only person other than me in this topic who has played it (Vincent) liked it!

starbound is pretty much in alpha and it isn't stuff

Man, you have to realize the scale of these 2 games and take it into consideration. Also this game isnt even stuff. Its a little buggy yes, but so is starbound!

Again, there you go calling a game youve never played stuff like its a fact, this game is not stuff. It is honestly fantastic for alpha and is a ton of fun

This means nothing.

"They did a lot of improvements and overhauled a lot of stuff but that means nothing"

Bright logic

starbound is pretty much in alpha and it isn't stuff

No it's not. It's in Beta. It's also a completely different type of game so comparing it's beta to DayZ's alpha is 100% ignorant. Developers can handle pre-releases however they want.

I pretty much consider the 1st part of the starbounds beta an alpha seeing as its the very first public release for it and its quite buggy.

I haven't played Bad Rats or Big rigs over the road racing and yet I know that they are both pretty bad games.
I'm don't think the game is stuff, I'm just saying it shouldn't cost £20/$30

Dayz Standalone, alright so far.

Yeah.

Just got robbed at gunpoint, they took my fire mans axe and my water canteen. I hid my gas lamp in my pants so they didnt see it :D

i can name so many games that are in alpha/pre alpha with less people working on it

and they actually look good

edit: and are not bloody $30

please can you shut the forget up and stop pissing on Mura's thread

holy stuff you guys are annoying.

Minecraft is not the golden standard for the pricing of beta's. Most fake betas are just exclusive demos. A real beta is used for the process of collecting a stamping out bugs. A lot of early access games follow the Planetary annihilation model of starting with a high price and dropping it. The intentions of the high price might include finding people who want to find bugs, plus get the game early along with the bonus content. Would rather have a few hundred people looking for bugs or would rather have thousands of kids sayings "wtf, this game is glitchy and broken as forget".

This comment taken from rock paper shotgun shows how bad the steam hammer legions are.

They really don’t. The problem seems to be growing with time. I leap into pretty much every MMORPG beta that comes along, and in years past, people generally seemed to understand the nature of a beta.

But when I was playing the Elder Scrolls Online beta last weekend, hoo boy. First, you had the selection of players who thought they were going to be getting Skyrim Online and were pissed that that wasn’t what they ended up getting.

Then you had the players who seemed to think that the beta was just a toy for them to enjoy (rather than a tool for the devs to uncover bugs and other problems, and to test how the game scales as they add more players), and were super-pissed that it wasn’t already 100% perfect.

And you had a slice of people who really didn’t seem to understand that they weren’t playing anything near a final game, and were convinced that any problems they encounter now are definitely, 100% going to be in the final game. This includes the robot voices that were clearly just placeholders. I mean, seriously, do these kids think that all the VO work in a video game gets knocked out in a few hours or something?

I might not like DayZ's community. The mod was fun for a bit, and sure rocket is an ass who made a lot of side ways balances that made the game more difficult. I believe you should play the game first before you decide that you don't like it. All the games I love and hate are all games that I have played. Either play the game or watch a video when the game is done.

So....
Anyone got to Utes yet?

So....
Anyone got to Utes yet?
Not yet, havent made it much of anywhere in the dark. And Im a little scared to try because I heard that if you swim all your batteries break

I'm personally extremely surprised that dayz even made it into alpha

All rockets been telling us is that nothing works and to have low expectations

Seems really pointless to create a separate game for a crappy mod anyways.

Really wasn't a crappy mod. Nothing is on it or this games scale
