welcome to day z
look at the comments, all the babies crying cuz they said they friendly but got killed. lol

this is about the mod and not standalone, but it turns out that if you accidently put more items into the backpack than it can hold, all those items just dissapear.
rip 5 DMR mags. forget

Really looking forward to getting this, but Im gonna wait till the price goes down. $30 is just a little too risky for me, especially if its in alpha.

But I do really wanna play this.

I heard that the price is going to go up after the alpha

Twentebb bought me this xoxoxoxoxoxoxox

its fun ja

Ugh, I'd like to buy this, but the price point is shying me away. $30 for a completed product? Sure. $30 for a buggy alpha/beta, no thanks.

It's a lot better than you'd think even with the bugs tbh.

I know I'd enjoy it, but the price point is just a tad steep. At least it's not planetary annihilation steep.

well it's only going to get steeper

do u ppl seriously stilll not understand that its an alpha? there are warnings literally everywhere about it on the steam store page
The point is, theyre releasing their game for a RETAIL price for a buggy alpha of a game.
If they don't want a lot of people buying it then why don't they just Invite a select few people instead of realeasing it for the cost of a fully tested game?(seems like cash grab IMO)
at least Minecraft made it so the price started out fairly low back in alpha.

TL;DR Possible cash grab and bad ideas for testing

Yes Flatflyer, Bohemia Interactive the creators of the Arma series (which by the way also had the ability to buy the game in alpha for a lesser cost) are making dayz a cash grab

Im just gonna assume this is sarcasm even though its hard to tell sarcasm from text.

It is a cash grab, and Bohemia is just using the whole "its so expensive cause we want a small amount of testers" to cover up the fact it is. and when anyone tries to tell people that the price is too steep for a buggy game they and the fanbase can easily say "But its in alpha!" to cover that up too.

Really the only difference I've seen from the mod to the standalone is just they've made the engine a bit better for it (even though a few bugs from the mod are still there.) and a few expansions to the map and making melee weps useful. That isn't enough to make this a game worth retail price.

At least it's not planetary annihilation steep.
planetary annihilation was so expensive to stay true to its kickstarter people
they would have angered people if the kickstarter price for the alpha was 60-70 dollars more than the steam early access price
