Nitrome is a small, nascent Flash game design company located in London. Founded in 2004 by
Mat Annal and
Heather Stancliffe, they (as of 2014) have 128 games and counting.
Nitrome games are very imaginative, and use concepts not often seen in games before. Even though they are given decent to high ratings by several review sites, Nitrome is relatively underrated in most Flash gaming circles. On June 20th, Nitrome released their first iOS game, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage, which has received great reviews, and was the #1 app on app stores worldwide. Currently, Nitrome is working on Android and Amazon ports of the game, as well as updating the game with more content to keep players interested.
On July 17th, Nitrome officially released accounts for their website. The account system allowed fans to log in with their username and password, and allowed for them to access new features of the website. Avatars are scattered throughout the games, and it's the user's goal to collect them all. The account system also allows for commenting on games and blog posts, which leads to many discussions and a sort of bond between Nitromians (fans of Nitrome. Silly name, I know).
