Comparison with T-55.

It might look sleek and futuristic, but this merely a propaganda tool designed to scare other nations. Tanks like the Maus, JS-3, and M103 were are built to look threatening, but were mechanically unreliable. I guarantee you that any post World War 2 tank could kill this thing. A lot of old tanks have been modernized for the modern battlefield such as the

and the American M60:

If you want a promising future tank then meet the T-84 Oplot. The Oplot belongs to a long lineage of tanks from the famous Ukranian designer Mikhail Koshkin, who created the T-34 and T-64 which lead to development a tank deadlier than the T-72 and T-90 known as the T-80. The T-84 is built with steel composite and is capable of mounting ERA. It mounts an autoloading 125mm gun capable of firing Russian 125mm shells and NATO 120mm shells; making it adaptable for neutral countries. Other features include a 7.62mm co-ax machine gun, and a remote control 12.5mm gun.

Other promising and practical tanks that have been put up for export: M60-2000, M60T/Sabra Tank, Leopard 2, and the M1 Abrams series.
A lot the features are hardly revolutionary since they have been previously incorporated onto other tanks. The Isreali Merkava tank has a rear hatch for escape, as well as a compartment for troops to ride in the back. The Merkava and Russian T-90, both have missile warning systems to warn the crew that a missile is coming at them. All tanks since the 80's have had thermal imagining added to allow the gunner and commander to spot tanks. Before that, soviet tanks had an infared search light that gave them the advantage over Western tanks in night fighting.
