Author Topic: Some strange glove texture not going away in Garry's Mod  (Read 1994 times)

gee that's a huge problem

alright, it absolutely has to be something in the gmod files but the only person who can really fish through it and find it is you

Try going to Garry's Mod's materials folder then go to models, then weapons, then v_models, then hands and see if you have a VTF and/or VMT file called v_hands, if so, delete it

Are you sure it's not an addon causing the bug?

Yeah, if there's no VTF and/or VMT in the directory i mentioned above, it has to be an addon, maybe whoever made the addon thought it was a good idea to put their glove texture into the weapon pack or something

There's no v_hands, so the add-ons i've recently downloaded were HL2B SCars and the Combine Sniper Rifle SWEP (The one with the blue scope not the clear one on the Gmod Workshop first page) I also have the M9K Assault Rifle or something like that weapon pack. I already uninstalled HL2B SCars for glitching my Gmod a bit, so yeah i'll try some things.

EDIT:

It didn't work after I uninstalled/disabled some of my recently-installed add-ons. I don't believe G-Bomb packs would do this either. I'll just have to deal with it until I get a new computer (which may be in January) and if the problem continues from there i'll try to seek more help.

Actually, maybe you guys can help me with this small problem if you want;

Every now and then whenever I damage a metrocop be it from melee or ranged, he goes into a pose where his arms are pointed to his side (Basically a T pose but his arms are in a  diagonal direction) and stays like that for about 20-30 seconds before resuming their attack. Does anybody else have this?

What kind of weapon does he have?

I'm starting to think you should just do a fresh install.

There's only one thing left to do...

Blow up your computer Try uninstalling all of your SWEPs and G-Bombs (just to be sure that nothing snuck in)

I believe i recall seeing that occasionally, i think it might be an issue with Garry's Mod where the NPC is trying to use an animation the model doesn't have or something like that

What kind of weapon does he have?
I believe the Metrocop does that even if he has a Stunstick, Pistol or SMG

But i think it mostly happens when you've attacked them (not sure if a certain weapon, such as the Crowbar, is required)

That's exactly what it is. Happens very commonly with NPC sweps or giving combine incorrect sweps (most of the time.) They can only hold a few select weapons.

It only happens with metrocops if they have stunsticks, if I recall correctly.

Just tested it. Yeah stun sticks have that issue for me too. Pistols are fine.

Okay, well, i've been uninstalling add-ons that came after I installed M9K, since I didn't see anything strange when I downloaded and first played around with it.

EDIT: Nope, nothing worked. I'd rather not re-install CS;S considering how long it would be to re-install it and barely be able to play any of my favorite servers on Gmod, so i'm just going to wait for a new computer and take it from there. Thanks for the help, guys.

You've checked Counter Strike's materials or custom folder for any custom materials?

You've checked Counter Strike's materials or custom folder for any custom materials?
And where would I find this?

You can just install a reskin for the CS:S gloves that you like.  You can find them on http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/ or gamebanana.
