Hell, for my birthday 12 days ago, my aunt got me Duck Dynasty shirts, boxers, and a knit cap and I don't even like the show.

Then, yesterday, my aunt got me 4 more duck dynasty shirts and two duck dynasty blankets, even after I told her I didn't really like the show on my Birthday. I didn't complain or say it was 'a stupid show and i don't like it.'

Kids grow up learning that "honesty is the best policy" and "lying is bad/a sin"
They're taught that they should be honest and not lie to their parents or others
Yet when someone is honest about something and they don't try to soften the blow its considered "rude" or "insensitive".

"This food isn't really good.."
"You don't like that food? Well there are starving kids in Africa so why don't you be a little more appreciative?"
"You don't like that jacket? Well there are kids who don't even have clothes to keep them warm."

It gets on my loving nerves. It's not being spoiled, it's being honest and sharing your feelings.
Just because other people don't have the things you have doesn't mean you should just sit back and deal with it. You can still strive to be better.
